![]() ![]() I’ll only discuss the home-use Pro Series models (i.e.You’ll learn every single difference between the PowerBlock Pro vs Elite, and why those differences matter (or don’t).īefore we begin, I want to make a few notes: This guide will help you pick the best PowerBlock dumbbell set for your needs, wants and budget. I’ve put together this in-depth comparison and review to help make the decision easier. If you have some spare change to spend, ball out on the pros! I stuck with the pros and the elites are going to a friend for retail. It can be tough to choose between the PowerBlock Pro vs Elite. The only additions to the pros are luxury upgrades. PB should ditch the safety bars in across the line. The urethane gives me that peace-of-mind in case I do drop them, especially if I lift with them on the platform. Although its footprint is a bit bigger than the elites, it’s no big deal. I like this better since there’s no knurl, I find the contour provides a better grip. It has a similar feeling grip, however the grip is contoured. I just received the pros today and used them briefly to chest press 70lbs. Oh yeah, their expansions seem to pop up more often than the pros during COVID, so this is your only option for 90lbs for retail at the moment. The wrist “safeties” on the elites can be a bit cramped. The smaller footprint is more forgiving if you decide to go with 90lb PBs, but I haven’t had issues with the size of the pros in the 70lb variant. I think this may be due to the urethane coating on the pros. Compared to the pro, they have a slightly smaller footprint. They have a flat, yet grippy rubber handle. They’re a solid adjustable dumbbell, especially priced at $428. However I did test each weight 3 times for accuracy and each number came up 3/3 times. **disclaimer, scale was purchased from Amazon for $16. The delta in weight is useless, but I thought it was interesting enough to share. So hopefully the universe is on your side and you can all get what you want.sooner than later.:-)Īdvertised 10lb block = 9.2lb block (8% delta)Īdvertised 70lb block = 67.4lb block (3.7% delta)Īdvertised 10lb block = 12.4lb block (24% delta)Īdvertised 70lb block = 70.4lb block (.6% delta) But if you take care of these.they will truly last you forever. They keep their value pretty well.so if you get the Elites.you could always "upgrade" in a few years. ![]() If you just want a cool solid set of adjustable dumbbells for a low/fair price.go with the Elites. Seems to be the general consensus is if you don't mind dropping a little extra scratch the Pro's are worth the upgrade. I generally prefer metal knurled grips.but the Elite does have the straight cylindrical grip that I prefer over the contoured.just in case my hand moves I'll have the same grip circumference no matter where my hand is on the grip. She wanted $480 but I talked her up to $500 because I felt guilty she was so underpriced. But the weighlifting gods smiled on me this week and I got a screaming Craigslist deal: Powerblock Elites 5-90's, large column stand and Powerblock Powerbench.all for $500. I guess I probably secretly wanted a set of Ironmasters.but I was #2105 in the Ironmaster lottery.so I didn't get a set of those. Great post.thanks! I had the 5-70 Pro's in my cart last Sat and didn't pull the trigger for some reason.although I'd been looking at them for months. ![]()
